Roccat web browser for OS X review

Does the Mac OS X community really need another Web browser? Probably not, although the browser ranks have thinned a bit with termination of the Flock social networking browser, the last release of the once-promising Shiira browser having been two years ago this month, and the announcement that development of the Mozilla Gecko based Mac-only Camino browser will be wound down. So, perhaps there’s room, and there’s a relatively new player that seems promising.

Skyfire’s $2.99 web browser quickly “sells out” at the App Store

As reported earlier, the Skyfire Web Browser for iPhone was supposed to be released soon. But what we didn’t expect is that the release would be this soon, and that it would “sell out” so quickly. Despite costing $2.99 to get a web browser that allows you to stream some Flash videos on your iPhone, Skyfire Labs pulled the app until they can increase capacity.

New Chrome for Mac beta adds much needed features

Back in October when Mac users first saw Google’s Chrome browser on their platform, there was plenty of excitement. However, not long after, it sunk in that Chrome for Mac was missing many of the features that the Windows users loved about it. In the most recent update from Google for the beta version of the browser, many of these features are now available.

WWDC: Safari 4 released

Today at WWDC 2009, Apple removed the beta label from Safari 4 and released it for Leopard, Tiger, and Windows. This finalized version of the browser includes Top Sites, as well as other new features that make browsing the web easier. Also, Safari 4 will increase the speed of surfing the web. Apple has claimed that users will notice that Safari renders JavaScript 7.8 times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and 5X faster than Chrome.
