WWDC 2010: Bumpers for iPhone 4 in one of six colors [updated]
Today’s iPhone 4 announcement was nothing short of amazing, and chances are good that you want one. iPhone 4 is full of firsts, the least of which is probably Apple’s first set of iPhone cases. That’s right, Apple hasn’t made a case for an iPhone before, but it’s time, and they seem to have really knocked it out of the park with the iPhone 4 Bumpers.
Safari 5 adds extensions, finally catches up to Firefox and Chrome
Amongst the improvements in Safari 5 is extension support. Firefox and Chrome have had support for extensions for quite some time, and there has been some extremely awesome development in those markets. On June 10th, Apple announced the Safari Developer Program that allows developers to create extensions using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Shortly thereafter, a flurry of extensions become available for the browser.
Could the iWork suite be coming to iPhone 4?
After this week’s announcement of the new Apple iPhone 4, Apple’s website was quickly updated with the new details, photos and video for the highly anticipated device. One of these many new pages gives information about the updates to the Mail application, and on there was a reference made to the iWork suite coming to the fourth generation iPhone.
WWDC 2010: Keynote presentation video now available online
Not a minute too soon, Apple has released the full video feature of this years WWDC Conference opening keynote from Steve Jobs.The video is available to watch from Apple’s website, and it can also be downloaded as a podcast from the iTunes Store. Despite the focus being entirely on the mobile world, with iPhone 4 being the only big announcement, this was still an incredible keynote to watch.
iPhone 4 case product announcements
Steve Jobs announced during his WWDC Keynote yesterday that Apple would be shipping their first iPhone case for the new device, to be called Bumpers. But they weren’t the only ones to promote their cases on announcement day. iLuv, Uncommon and Case-mate were also quick to show off their new accessories, so jump past the break to see what your iPhone 4 could be wearing later this month.
iPhone 4 pricing and worldwide availability
Apple’s new iPhone 4 will be available June 24th if you live in the US, France, Germany, Japan, or the UK. Preorders for the device as well as reservations for in store pickups will start the 15th of June. Interestingly, the iPhone will be available online and at AT&T, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy. If you want one, you can choose between white or black and 16GB or 32GB.
Guitar Hero shreds on the iPhone, iPod touch
You had me at “Fat Bottomed Girls.” As part of today’s WWDC Keynote presentation, Activision announced that Guitar Hero is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch. The new game features all-new gameplay that will keep players rocking out as they strum, tap, slide and whammy to the hottest tracks from the bands they know and love, such as Queen, Rise Against, The Rolling Stones, Vampire Weekend, Weezer and The White Stripes.
Apple releases iPhone 4 video
Couldn’t make it to the WWDC keynote to see all the iPhone 4 goodness? No worries, Apple has already released their marketing video detailing some of the new aspects of the iPhone 4. At about six minutes in length, it covers FaceTime, the new Retina Display, and a bunch of other cool iPhone 4 related design elements. You can watch the video on Apple’s website, which you can bet is using HTML5 over Flash.
WWDC 2010: iPhone 4 video calling
As the “one more thing…” in this year’s WWDC keynote, Steve Jobs announced FaceTime—the video calling feature of iPhone 4. Thanks to the new front-facing camera (although it also works with the rear camera), users will be able to make video calls to each other, seeing themselves and recipients on screen.
WWDC 2010: iPhone 4 gains 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
The fourth generation of the Apple iPhone has been released at today’s WWDC keynote. One of the main features of the hardware is the upgrade of the main camera and the inclusion of a front facing camera, most likely for video chat purposes. The main camera has been upgraded from 3 to 5 megapixels, and it now uses a backside illuminated sensor for the highest possible quality.
