Apple’s Magic Trackpad leaked before WWDC

Just hours before WWDC, Engadget has posted leaked pictures of yet another Apple surprise product, the Magic Trackpad. In the same style as Apple’s bluetooth keyboard, the Magic Trackpad appears to be a MacBook Pro’s multitouch trackpad in wireless form. This is quite an interesting set of pictures since we haven’t heard much of anything about a Magic Trackpad, but the logic is sound behind this product.

Rumor: Safari 5 to be unveiled today

It seems that this past Friday, rumors started to circulate that Apple will be launching Safari 5 as early as today’s WWDC keynote presentation. With it, Apple is believed to be taking aim at Google with features such as an option for Bing search engine integration (has Google really made bedfellows of Apple and Microsoft?) and at Adobe with increased HTML5 functionality.

WWDC iPhone rumor round-up

chnology just wouldn’t be the same without the rumor-mill behind each story, giving options and possibilities to every product launch. As we know, Apple is most definitely not an exception to this, and in true form, the rumors surrounding the next generation iPhone are in full swing ahead of this year’s WWDC. Let’s imagine that every rumor came true. What sort of device, or should I say devices, would we have?

Nice try, but that’s no new iPhone

We’re less than a week away from Apple’s WWDC keynote, and the latest in iPhone rumors has risen to the surface, from Italian Apple blog, iSpazio. The images that were posted are apparently from an image of the iPhone page on Apple’s website—the page that would be updated as new hardware is unveiled. The phone looks plausible, granted, but things feel a little fake around the edges for me.

WWDC rumor roundup

With the 2009 Worldwide Developers Conference less than a week away, there’s plenty of speculation of what new products Apple will announce (especially after the dud that was MacWorld Expo). Here’s a roundup of the latest speculation (Snow Leopard, iPhone, Mac Netbook, Mac Tablet, Stevenote) along with the liklihood of it happening.

WWDC banners appear

Seven days before the Apple keynote at WWDC, several banners have been spotted at the Moscone Center where the event will take place. An emphasis is certainly placed on the iPhone, with every sign and banner featuring icon’s from either popular apps, or upcoming titles. Of course, there’s no obvious signs of a new iPhone itself, but it’s not like Apple to give away their secrets.

How to run Mac OS X on a Dell Mini 9

Is the World Wide Developers Conference too far away for you? Are you desperate to get your hands on an Apple netbook straight away? The folks over at TestFreaks.com couldn’t stay away any longer, so they took a Dell Mini 9 and decided to install Mac OS X Leopard. The process seems surprisingly simple, and gave them a fully functional MacBook Nano (or close enough) within an hour.

The Apple Tablet, or bad photoshopping?

Upon first look, this could be a legitimate Apple Tablet device. But once you look at it in more detail, a few things stand out at you that make you lean towards a Photoshop job, rather than actual product. 9 to 5 Mac posted the image, and expressed their views of it being a fake. I have to agree with them, and here’s why…

Is Steve Jobs testing an Apple Tablet?

For the past few months, Tim Cook has been overseeing the day to day operations of Apple. But as any fan of Apple would know, there’s no way Steve Jobs is leaving Apple be until the Summer. His last resort was to take time off, so he’ll be firmly in touch with Apple, likely on a daily basis some way or another. Rumors are all we have until his return, but with so much talk of an Apple touch-screen tablet, has Jobs been working on this potential device?

Is this the new iphone?

I know, we’ve seen that question a lot over the past couple of weeks. And since we’re less than 24 hours away from the expected announcement, posting newly “leaked” images is much ado about nothing. But, we received this tip nonetheless, and thought we’d pass the images along to you just so you can add them to your rumor collection.

The image above comes form web-mobile.net (you know, in case you missed the subtle watermark). It’s a French site, which I translated into English at Alta Vista and got commentary such as this:

Following a too important multitude visitors on the site (more than 710 users single into simultaneous yesterday evening, 924 today, which resulted in to make crasher the waiter), we decided to make this page, history to show you essence and to keep the fast waiter!

More after the break.
