AOL will soon launch a user-generated content site across all of its platforms that will compete with YouTube, as well as its various other competitors. The Web site Beet.tv initially reported the existence of the upcoming site, which is called UnCut Video and is online in beta form.

Reports of a new service similar to YouTube had been floating for some time, but AOL executive Fred McIntyre confirmed to Beet.tv that the site will officially launch in June. Its tagline is “See it! Shoot it! Share it!”

The new launch is part of AOL’s continuing transformation, which led it to abandon its long-held subscription model last year and instead embrace Web 2.0 principles more fully. It also recently launched a Myspace-like social network, AIM Pages.
