Best Buy earlier this week made a curious offer. Teaming up with Interscope Records, the CE retail giant has offered a free download of the Twitter-reading application Tweetdeck, along with the purchase of a CD by one of several Interscope artists.
According to TechCrunch, the application comes pre-loaded so that the user is “following” each of the Interscope artists on Twitter. However, Tweetdeck is available for free anyway, and customers are always free to follow or unfollow whomever they want.

The Best Buy Web site trumpeting the offer had apparently been pulled as of Wednesday.
