Amazon announced over the weekend that the Kindle is now the most-gifted item in the history of the site. Amazon also said that on Christmas Day, Kindle books outsold physical books for the first time.
“We are grateful to our customers for making Kindle the most gifted item ever in our history,” CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement. “On behalf of Amazon.com employees around the world, we wish everyone happy holidays and happy reading!”
In the electronics category, the top items for the holiday season for Amazon were the Kindle, the 8GB iPod Touch and the Garmin nuvi 260W 4.3-inch GPS device.
