Amazon announced Tuesday that it is adding HD content to its Video on Demand service. The new capability is available through both Roku and TiVo, as well as TVs, from Panasonic, that have the service built in.

On TiVo, episodes of currently-running seasons of TV shows are available for purchase for $2.99, with movies available for rental for $3.99 or $4.99.

"TiVo is enabling customers to access our unparalleled library of hit movies and TV shows, bringing them directly into the home where friends and family can watch from the comfort of the couch," Amazon’s vice president of music and video, Bill Carr, said as part of the announcement. "Together with TiVo, Amazon Video On Demand is excited to offer HD and increase the selection, quality, and convenience for the TiVo community."
