Apple Tops Windows in Smart Phone Share

In the most recent ranking of market share for smart phone operating systems from comScore, Research in Motion/BlackBerry retained the top spot, with Apple’s iPhone overtaking Microsoft’s Windows Mobile for the first time in October.

According to FierceDeveloper.com, which obtained the figures, RIM grabbed the lead with 14.9 million, followed by Apple (8.97 million), Windows (7.1 million), Palm (2.8 million), Symbian (1.297 million) and Google’s Android (1 million.)
