Harman Kardon on Tuesday announced the release of its first-ever Blu-ray Disc player. The BDP 1 includes BD-Live functionality, as well as upconverting of DVDs.
“The Harman Kardon brand has a rich history of delivering the right combination of power, performance, flexibility and ease of use in the home,” the company’s director of consumer and field marketing, Christopher M. Dragon, said as part of the announcement. “The introduction of our first Blu-ray Disc player balances our portfolio of home products, which have always featured great sound but, now, thanks to the BDP 1, offer crystal-clear video playback.”
The player is available this month at an MSRP of $499.
