Yes, your next hotel stay could include a million or so pixels of high definition glory in addition to the little soaps and overpriced mini bar. GalleryPlayer, the company that put fine art and photography onto flash cards, cable systems and DVDs as HDTV screen savers, is partnering with Guest-Tek to get its high def images in hotel rooms and public areas. Guest-Tek makes IP-based content systems for hotels. The HDTV images are supposed to be free—just tune to the gallery channel. The release GP sent me doesn’t say what hotels the feature will be available at, but I can at least guess that it won’t me most of the hotels I stay at, unless they upgrade those 19-inch Zenith TVs soon.
