And now, the highlight reel:

The Dark Knight – It’s as good as they say, so read my full review here.

Dodgeball – Easily one of the funniest movies of the past ten years, kudos to Fox for bringing this comedy gem to Blu-ray. The bold-colored uniforms look splendid in 1080p and the final act of the film greatly benefits from a lively new DTS-HD soundtrack.

Dumb and Dumber – "Don’t you go dyin’ on me!" Dumb and Dumber pulls off the comedy trifecta: it’s hilarious, highly rewatchable and extremely quotable. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a copy of this one, but here’s hoping this new Blu-ray edition is a step up from my aging DVD.

Horton Hears a Who! – Speaking of Jim Carrey, here is again – this time in animated form. The pairing of Carrey with Steve Carell in a Dr. Seuss classic sounds like a promising recipe, but I haven’t received this one yet so I can’t speak from experience. Fox brings Horton to Blu-ray carrying the Digital Copy Special Edition banner. Features include a kid-friendly, PiP-style commentary track hosted by one of the Whos, JoJo.

I Am Legend – This "Ultimate Collector’s Edition" gives Will Smith’s underrated end-of-days thriller a surprisingly elaborate package sporting the largest box I’ve seen yet for one film. In addition to more making-of material and a new director commentary, goodies include an attractive 44-page concept sketch book, six artwork cards and a collectible lenticular. The film itself is presented with the same technical specs as the previous Blu-ray, though the theatrical and alternate versions are now on separate discs. Read my review of the original Blu-ray here.

Jet Li’s Fearless – This martial arts epic is a lot of fun and it’s great to see Universal bringing it to Blu-ray after its previous incarnation on HD DVD. (Read my review of that here.) Although this Blu-ray is light on extras, Universal has been kind enough to give us THREE versions of the film: the PG-13 theatrical cut, the unrated international version and a new Ronny Yu Director’s Cut.

Lost: Season 4 – First, the bad news: Season Four is a short one and consequently it seems severely overpriced. The good news is that the limited schedule made Season Four lean and mean with very little fat and the brisk pacing is refreshing. Plus, the show looks as splendid as ever in 1080p.
