Apple announced Friday that the iPad's WiFi-only model will be available in stores Saturday, April 3, with preorders starting March 12 on Apple.com. The device will be available from Apple.com, Apple's retail stores, and “select Apple Authorized Resellers.”
The 3G version of the device will be available in “late April,” the company added. When the iPad was announced in late January, CEO Steve Jobs had said the WiFi version would arrive “in 60 days,” and the 3G iPad “in 90 days.”
“iPad is something completely new,” Jobs said in the statement Friday. “We’re excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.”
