Best Buy said this week that it will drop prices on two Android-based smartphones offered by Sprint. The HTC Hero and Samsung Moment smartphones, both of which previously cost $179, will now retail for $99 with a two-year activation.
The offer runs through December. Several new Android phones, including Motorola’s Droid and HTC’s Droid Eris (both from Verizon), have been released since the two Sprint phones, and are more expensive.
"Best Buy Mobile is committed to offering a great shopping experience and helping holiday consumers get the most out of mobile technology, whether it’s for them or as a gift," Best Buy Mobile president Shawn Score said as part of the announcement.
