Vizio said Thursday that pop superstar Beyonce, who recently signed on a spokesperson for the company, will appear in her first Vizio commercial during the Super Bowl next month.
The 60-second spot will air during the game's fourth quarter. Vizio has not released details about the content of the ad, aside from Beyonce's involvement, and that it was created by ad agency Venables, Bell & Partners, and directed by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Wally Pfister.
In addition, Vizio will sponsor the Super Bowl pregame show on CBS, and will air a pair of 30 second spots during that show. Vizio products and signage will also be incorporated into the pregame.
“Our new partnership with Beyonce along with this substantial presence during CBS's Super Bowl broadcast, demonstrate that VIZIO isn't about to take its foot off the throttle,” Vizio cofounder Laynie Newsome said in a statement. ”We may be the #1 LCD HDTV company in America, but we continue to operate with the same passion and 'challenger-mindset' that has always driven us.”
Vizio was the only major CE company to run advertising during last year's Super Bowl.
