LG said Thursday that its first-ever HDTVs to carry Netflix capabilities without need for a separate box are available now. The TVs were first announced at International CES in January.
The first two of TVs, the a 47-inch LCD 47LH50 and 50-inch plasma 50PS80, are available now, while two more models, the 42-inch 42LH50 LCD and 60-inch 60PS80 plasma, will arrive later this summer.
"With 2.5 million North American households looking to purchase a networked TV, incorporating broadband connectivity into our new HDTVs became a natural progression of our partnership with Netflix," LG’s senior vice president, marketing and strategy, Peter Reiner, said as part of the announcement.
"Both LG and Netflix are committed to offering consumers easy access to entertainment on demand and LG’s newest HDTVs make it easier than ever to access thousands of movies and TV shows instantly."
