Rootsy blues-rockers Moreland & Arbuckle get right down to business in the first seconds of their new album, Flood, covering Little Walter's “Hate to See You Go”. The duo, consisting of guitarist/bassist Aaron Moreland and singer/harpist Dustin Arbuckle (backed by drummer Brad Horner), do a great job of presenting blues standards and their original songs in vintage blues style, with Moreland playing a variety of exotic instruments such as cigar box guitar and Arbuckle handling most of the solos with his dexterous harmonica playing. No-frills recording drives the point home. A fun slice of upbeat blues.
