Nintendo announced Monday that it will drop the MSRP for both the DSi and DSiXL handheld consoles in September. The devices, beginning Sept. 12, will retail for $149.99 and $169.99, respectively. Both are $20 cuts from the current prices.
The DS Lite will remain on the market, at its current price of $129.99.
“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, said as part of the announcement. “Our new Nintendo DSi prices make it easier than ever for consumers to access the tremendous variety of games, applications and social tools on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.”
