3G iPad is Sold Out at Apple Stores Nationwide

The 3G edition of the iPad is completely sold out at Apple retail stores nationwide, AppleInsider reported, citing analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray.

Munster contacted 50 Apple stores and found that all 50 are sold out of the 3G iPad, with nearly three fourths of them also sold out of the Wi-Fi version. Apple has been offering instead to place customers on a “notify me” waiting list. There remains a wait time of over a week for online orders as well.

The analyst has projected that Apple will sell 1.3 million iPads in the current quarter; the company announced in late April that it had crossed the 1 million mark.
