A television network is readying a comedy pilot parodying Apple CEO Steve Jobs- and one of the men behind it is no stranger to the Jobs-skewering game. According to Hollywood news Web site Deadline.com, the cable network Epix has teamed up with Newsweek's “Fake Steve Jobs” blogger, Dan Lyons, as well as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Borat” director Larry Charles, to create the half-hour series, called “iCON.”
The show is about a character described as “composite of Jobs and other Silicon Valley titans,” while the show itself is “a savage satire, a study of ego, power and greed.”
“iCON” was also the title of a Jobs biography by Jeffrey S. Young and William L. Simon, but that book is unrelated to the new project. Lyons is the author of a humor book called “Options: The Secret Life of Steve Jobs—A Parody.”
