Microsoft Monday announced the latest version of the Windows Mobile operating system, which looks very similar to the design of the company's Zune media player.
According to the AP, Windows Mobile 7 will, like it predecessor, go by the “Windows Phone” name.
The software was unveiled by CEO Steve Ballmer at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
“It's all about the phone and how consumers react to the device,” Ballmer said as part of his keynote.
The new operating system, which will begin appearing on phones from various manufacturers later this year, will feature six “hubs”- people, pictures, games, marketplace, music and Office.
