While select retailers will soon have the chance to showcase Sony’s BRAVIA 3D-equipped LCD HDTVs, the only place for the present where the public can have a look at the company’s offerings is in 44 Sony Style stores across the U.S.

Last week, the company tied into the Social Media Week event in New York City to focus attention on its 3D TVs and Blu-ray players in the lower-level living-room-like setting of its flagship store on Midtown Manhattan’s Madison Avenue. The company ran full-blown demos of 3D sets, many of which feature different iterations of LED backlighting, a new, bezel-free Monolithic design concept, and Internet video capability.

The entire BRAVIA line is comprised of 36 models ranging up to 60 inches in screen size.  The models include the 3D 60-inch XBR-60LX900 and the 3D-ready 52-inch XBR-52HX900 and 55-inch KDL-55HX800 – all of which are to be available this summer.

Models in the LX900, HX900, NX800 and NX700 ranges will offer the flush viewing surface that is the Monolithic design’s signature – along with an optional stand that tilts the screen six degrees upward. Sony said the tilted panel makes for a more eye-friendly viewing experience. And if the sets are displayed with the $229 angled stand, it also makes for a point of visual differentiation on the showroom floor.
