Google has announced an invitation-only press event for its headquarters on Jan. 5. The company did not state the official purpose of the event, but various media outlets speculated that the event will involve the new, Google-branded Nexus One phone.
The event, unlike most other Android products thus far, features only Google branding, and not that of any other hardware company or mobile carrier.
The announcement will also come just two days prior to the start of International CES.
Meanwhile, an internal document obtained by Boy Genius Report this week confirmed the previously reported scenario that Google will sell the Nexus One phone directly, with T-Mobile as its designated carrier.
