Back when I was in school, a long, long time ago, technology was obviously not where it is today and more and more teachers today are using this new technology in their classrooms every day.
When it comes to math and science, the Casio Prizm does it all. It boasts an incredible 3.17”, 216 x 384 high resolution Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT display, showcasing over 65,000 colors. Graphs and charts are now in full color and a dream come true for today’s students.
The Prizm comes out of the box with a trusty Prizm Education program to help those of us who’ve been out of the classroom for some time now. It comes with 40 pre-loaded pictures that can be used in 8 of the 15 built-in programs that make use of the Picture Plot function. It allows you to plot graphs and curves over familiar shapes.
Casio also manufactures the Green Slim Projector that can be hooked up, via the included USB 2.0 port, to the Prizm and used by teachers in the classroom on a larger, high-definition screen. The Prizm can also output to any PC as well.
Additional features of the Prizm include a 16MB max storage capacity and power consumption ranging from 250 hours to about 85 hours depending on the battery type used and the programs you’re running.
The Prizm is currently available for an MSRP of $129.99
