In the past few years, I've reviewed several BlueAnt hands-free in-car Bluetooth speakerphones along with speakerphones from other companies and the S4 is by far the best. It is as hands-free as you could possibly get.

Who needs an instruction manual? The entire set up is done via the audio quick start guide, which talks you through the setup and pairing process without the need to read the manual. Brilliant! Once you pair your phone with the S4 you're pretty much good to go and it only took me a few seconds to do so. Voice dialing was definitely my favorite feature of the S4. Simply memorize the phrase, “BlueAnt Speak To Me” and every wish is at the S4 voice prompt's command. The voice prompt will then ask you for your command. If your particular phone supports Voice Dialing (some do not), your phone address book will be automatically synced with the S4 and the voice prompt will announce the name of the caller with each call. If your phone does not support Voice Dialing over Bluetooth, you'll have to manually sift through your address book to make a call. The S4 transfers and stores up to 2,000 phonebook entries. You can simply say, “answer” or “ignore”. I was called by my wife and several of my friends and each call was clear. When calling my wife back I commanded the voice prompt to, “Redial”. Past speakerphones would present the problem of wind and outside vehicle noise, but the S4 does a great job of reducing that background noise.

I'm always wondering how much battery life I have left in many of my electronic devices and sometimes I take a gamble and run out of juice. However, I was able to ask my voice prompt how much battery life I had left, which was a real benefit for me considering how I basically “live” in my car.

If you're into getting your daily news and sports fix, the S4 is optimized for Bing, which allows you to hear movie times, stock quotes, weather, sports, traffic and more. Another fantastic feature, through a partnership with Vlingo, is the ability to have incoming text messages read audibly by the press of a button on the phone and by saying, “Start SafeReader”.

For an inexpensive $99.99 and with so many vehicle accidents through cell phone use and text messaging, I can't think of a safer way to access your information and make and receive your most important calls. EG
