With Christmas fast approaching, here’s a list of the best Christmas and holiday titles now available on Blu-ray Disc. Be sure to check it twice!

Bad Santa – Nothing says Christmas like a drunk, foul-mouthed Billy Bob Thornton plotting to knock over a department store.

A Christmas Story – Sure, you’ve seen it a hundred times on TBS. But have you seen it on Blu-ray by the glow of leg lamp Christmas lights?

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – Bookend your Christmas Story tin with this equally fun set from Warner. Includes a Wallyworld mug and Santa cap!

Classic Fireplace – It may not keep you warm, but this 1080p Blu-ray fireplace disc from Scenic Labs is the perfect background for your next holiday gathering.

Die Hard – "Now I have a machine gun. Ho-ho-ho." The original is still the best but Fox’s 4-movie Blu-ray box set is definitely the way to go.

Elf - I had higher hopes for this one, but Will Ferrell dressed up in elf shoes trying to fit in a micro-sized bunk bed is just plain funny.

Gremlins - Who HASN’T wanted a Mogwai for Christmas after seeing Joe Dante’s charming little creature feature?

Home Alone – Forget the obnoxious sequels. The original Home Alone remains an entertaining and, dare I say, touching film that always plays well this time of year.

It’s a Wonderful Life – Jimmy Stewart’s time-tested classic is a holiday staple. Rumor has it Paramount’s Blu-ray offers a nice upgrade in picture quality from that tired old DVD.

Lethal Weapon – If Gary Busey shooting up a beautifully-decorated living room and Christmas tree isn’t enough to warm your spirit, there’s always the drug-induced swan dive set to "Jingle Bell Rock."

Love Actually – Although no one story is given sufficient screen time, this charming collection of intertwined stories strikes the perfect balance between heartfelt emotion and laugh-out loud funny.

Miracle on 34th Street – Fox’s Blu-ray Disc also includes the colorized version but it’s the classic black and white that looks better than ever.

Nightmare Before Christmas – Tim Burton and Henry Selick make stop-motion magic. And seriously, who hasn’t found a shrunken head waiting for them under the tree at least once?

Nothing Like the Holidays – A refreshingly down to earth and genuine picture about the ins and outs of one large family and the trials and treasures the holidays bring.

The Polar Express – Tom Hanks stars beside Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks and Tom Hanks in this music-filled animation sensation. Warner’s Blu-ray also includes the 3-D version, but I’d stick to the standard 2-D if I were you.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
