Best Buy this week announced the upcoming release of several new affordable laptop computers, including a non-netbook selling for under $250. That computer is an Acer model with 2GB memory and a 160GB hard drive, which sells at the retailer for $249.99 beginning Wednesday.
In addition to Acer, other laptop brands sold at Best Buy include Apple, Asus, Dell, Gateway, HP, Lenovo Sony and Toshiba. The chain carries 30 laptop models, i addition to six netbooks.
“For many of us, computers are the center of our digital worlds, and Best Buy is committed to remaining a valued partner in this space,” Best Buy’s vice president of computers, Jason Bonfig, said as part of the announcement.
“We promise a broad assortment of quality products at a variety of price points, all the major brands, and smart Best Buy Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Agents to help customers feel confident about the choices they’re making.”
