Blockbuster’s alliance with Sonic Solutions to provide video-on-demand services to various CE devices is getting close to fruition, Home Media Magazine reported Thursday.
Sonic’s Roxio CinemaNow software will soon deliver Blockbuster’s on-demand service to such products at Samsung TVs, TiVo DVRs, and even Motorola mobile phones. In addition, Blockbuster has reached a deal with three cable operators- Suddenlink, Mediacom and Avail-TVN- to both promote their VOD services and rebrand some of them with the Blockbuster name.
Blockbuster and Sonic announced their relationship in January.
