Sony has announced its first foray into the netbook category, with a new Vaio-branded small laptop. The Vaio W series, which the company is pitching as a "secondary PC," will retail for around $500 and arrive next month; preorders are being taken at www.sonystyle.com.
The netbook features a 160GB hard drive and runs Windows XP; it also features a built-in webcam and microphone. It comes in three colors- berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown.
