Sony last week introduced a new line of notebook PCs, some of which feature Blu-ray technology. The new VAIO NW notebook, which starts at $800 and at $880 for a Blu-ray equipped model, is scheduled to arrive this summer.
The NW features a 15.5-inch widescreen display, as well as LCD technology and an HDMI output connector. It also comes in three colors: birch white, rattan silver and walnut brown.
“This notebook sets a precedent in the industry merging powerful Blu-ray technology with a portable, head-turning design — all for an unheard of low price,” the company's senior vice president, Mike Abary, said as part of the announcement.
