Sony and Sharp have been attempting to one-up each other throughout the spring, introducing new signage and big-screen deals with various major league baseball teams for their ballparks. Sony’s latest addition is the Cincinnati Reds.
Opening Day this week will include the debut of a new HD control room at Great American Ballpark, courtesy of Sony and partner Daktronics. It will include HD cameras, monitors and recording decks for use in the team’s in-stadium presentation. Also included in the deal is a new 38 by 137-foot left field scoreboard and video wall, as well as "fascia board" all around the ballpark.
In addition, Sony PlayStation units will be available at certain fan interactive zones, while fans in luxury suites will be given a choice which angles they wish to watch.
