Fans of Web music services Slacker and Pandora have a lot to be happy about this week as more compatible products come out at CES. In addition to the news yesterday from Sony and Samsung, two more companies will be including an Internet Radio service.
From Slacker, we hear that Blackberry smartphones will now be able to run Slacker’s free mobile application station caching feature, which the company says guarantees playback everywhere while also dramatically boosting battery life and performance. The application, which is compatible with BlackBerry Device Software version 4.3 and higher is available as a free download by visiting Slacker.com from your BlackBerry smartphone.
Slacker pulls from over 100 expert- programmed Slacker stations, over 10,000 artist stations or a nearly unlimited number of the listener’s own custom-created stations.
Slacker station caching, an exclusive feature for BlackBerry
smartphones, enables mobile listeners to store favorite stations on a memory card, allowing Slacker music service to play without a network connection while boosting battery life up to 5 times that of streaming playback and enhancing application performance.
Included in the Slacker application for BlackBerry smartphones are detailed artist bios and album reviews for each song that is played, providing the ultimate resource for music discovery. The Slacker Mobile application works with the free Slacker Basic Radio service, along with Slacker Radio Plus and Slacker Premium Radio subscription offerings.
For Pandora, we get a new partner in German radio maker Sonoro. Pandora will now be available on Sonoro’s elements W Internet .The elements W, connected to a LAN line or WiFi, offers access to over 13,000 Internet radio stations searchable by genre or region and to local FM stations. An iPod dock is also available.
sonoro also announced new additions to its elements product family, elements tatou, which portrays the company’s signature vine motif along the front panel of the radio. It is available in black and white.
