LG on Tuesday announced the impending release of a new concept called the Digital Photo TV. The new technology, which will be demonstrated by the company at International CES this week, allows a TV panel to be used as an LCD TV when on and as a digital photo frame when off.
The first product using the technology is a 47-inch Digital Photo TV.
"Today’s TV continues to evolve due to continued developments such as enhanced picture quality and slimmer designs," LG Display’s executive vice president and CTO, In-Jae Chung, said as part of the announcement. "Looking ahead to the future, we can expect to see next-generation TVs featuring multiple functions."
