Office Depot and N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc. last week announced the launch of the Office Depot Tech Trade-In program, which will allow users to trade in their old and unused electronics in exchange for a store gift card. The items will then be recycling, with the customer receiving a gift card in the amount of the “recycle trade-in value.”
Small-to-medium-sized electronics, including LCD monitors and TVs, digital cameras, computers, camcorders, gaming systems, MP3 players, smart phones and printers are among the items accepted as part of the program.
N.E.W. launched a similar program with Sam’s Club last spring.
“In the wake of a tough economy, Office Depot is excited to help customers clean out their old technology, and provide them with a store credit in the process,” Office Depot’s vice president of merchandising, Randy Wick, said as part of the announcement. “This is also a great opportunity for small business customers to upgrade their outdated office equipment without breaking the bank.”
