Of all of the animated classics in the Disney vaults, “Dumbo” is perhaps the edgiest. Its themes of loneliness, bullying and abandonment make for one pretty depressing film. It's also a visually beautiful cartoon, creating a magical circus atmosphere populated by rich characters and wild colors.
