San Diego, CA—Sony’s Bloggie Touch pocket video cameras are designed to make it easy to preserve and upload personal videos and photos. The MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10 videocams capture Full HD 1,920×1,080p MP4 video and 12.8 megapixel photos on 8 gigabytes (GB) or 4GB of embedded memory, respectively, offering four hours of high-def movie recording.
“The new Bloggie Touch addresses the growing need for premium video products with advanced technology in a desirable package at a competitive price point,” said Andy Bubala, director of Sony’s camcorder business. “We started from the ground up to develop a new system of hardware, software and seamless integration with social network services for an easy, intuitive shooting and sharing experience that anyone can enjoy.”
Boasting a straightforward design, the Bloggie Touch cameras have minimal hard keys and a 3.0-inch touch screen that automatically adjusts for vertical or horizontal shooting and viewing, so consumers can shoot right-handed, left-handed, right-side up or upside down. They can also record video and snap photos at the same time, by pressing two of three simplified buttons.
The videocams are equipped with an f/2.8 wide-angle lens and a sensitive Exmor CMOS sensor. Additionally, videographers can employ their 4x digital zoom and autofocus capabilities, including auto macro at four inches away. The ultra-compact cameras also provide SteadyShot image stabilization, face detection, a built-in USB arm for charging and uploading to a computer, and an HDMI output to view content on an HDTV.
Their user interface features intuitive “touch and flick” recording control, search and playback operation, and a share-it-later function to tag clips and pictures to post for upload when users are online.
After connecting a Bloggie Touch to an Internet-compatible computer via its built-in USB, preinstalled software imports the user’s videos and photos so they can be edited and transferred to sharing websites with drag-and-drop motions. The software provides direct upload to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa Web Albums and YouTube.
The built-in Bloggie software also connects to Sony’s Personal Space online service that enables consumers to share photos and videos privately with individuals they select. Personal Space registered users can create sharing groups by entering e-mail addresses of friends and family. Once footage and images have been uploaded, the service sends an e-mail invitation to those groups with a link to view content on the Personal Space service.
Available in silver or black, the MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10 have MSRPs of $200 and $180, respectively. A protective skin jacket is also available. sony.com
