Fujifilm Adds Five FinePix, Led by Fast F900EXR Premium Compact Ultra Zoom

Fujifilm announced five FinePix cameras, all scheduled to reach a store near you by March 2013, including the Fujifilm-FinePix-Camera-Reviewspremium, long-zoom FinePix F900EXR that features a new intelligent hybrid AF system said to focus as fast as 0.05 sec by using phase detection AF in its EXR-CMOS II sensor.

The F900EXR, which automatically switches between phase detection AF and contrast detection AF depending on the subject and scene, also has an improved wireless image transfer function that allows users to upload high-resolution images and movies to their Apple or Android smartphone or tablet.

The FinePix F900EXR features a 1/2″ 16 megapixel EXR-CMOS II sensor built to deliver in low light, a Fujinon 20x wide-angle long-zoom lens (25–500mm) with an intelligent digital zoom function that effectively doubles its zoom, and an 3.0-inch 920K-dot LCD. It also includes a new EXR processor II engineered to more than double the performance of the first-generation EXR processor, enabling a start-up time of 1.1 seconds, an interval between shots of 0.5 sec and a burst rate of 11 frames per sec (fps) for five frames.

Fuji-FinePix-F900EXRTo connect the F900EXR to a smartphone or tablet, users can download the free Fujifilm Camera application to their iPhone/iPad or Android smartphone or tablet. The app transfers 30 pictures at a time and also lets users download movies. And with its Wi-Fi capability, the F900EXR permits users to back up photos onto their home computer, once they’ve installed the free Fujifilm PC AutoSave software onto their computer and select which folder they want the photos to back up to. Then, once linked to a Wi-Fi router, the F900EXR will back up photos to the home PC.

Other FinePix F900EXR features include: a macro mode that focuses down to 1.9 inches; a new E-fn (extended function) button to assign frequently used options; RAW shooting (RAW, JPEG, RAW+JPEG image capture modes) ; a movie-recording button for starting Full HD video recording at 60 fps with improved phase detection AF and sound using the built-in stereo microphone; scene recognition for movie recording that automatically adjusts settings for landscapes, close-ups, night landscapes, portraits, backlit portraits and night portraits for hassle-free results; and built-in photographic filters that include pop color, toy camera, miniature, dynamic tone, partial color, high key, low key and soft focus.

The FinePix F900EXR will be offered in black and indigo blue. $399.95.

FinePix F850EXR. The F850EXR employs a 16MP 1/2-inch EXR CMOS sensor with EXR processor II and a 20x, 25–500mm optical zoom with CMOS-shift image stabilization . It also features: a 3.0-inch LCD with wide viewing angle ; EXR-auto optimization for 108 scene permutations; full manual controls ; a 1.1-sec start-up time; an interval between shots of 0.5 sec; 9-fps continuous shooting at full resolution ; built-in filters; motion panorama 360; Full HD 1080p video (60 fps) ; Eye-Fi card compatibility; and 250 shots per battery charge. $299.95.

Fujifilm Long-Zoom S-Series All-in-One Bridge Cameras

Two new S-series models—the S6800 and S4800—each use an optical image stabilization system for blur reduction and genuine Fujinon 30x (24–720mm) optical zoom lenses that consist of 17 elements in 12 groups and combine aspherical and ED elements to help reduce aberrations. These bridge cameras are also capable of a super macro mode to get as close as 0.78 inch from a subject.

FinePix S6800. With a 16MP 1/2.3″ BSI-CMOS sensor and an autofocus speed of 0.3 sec, the S6800 also Fujifilm-FinePix-S6800features: continuous shooting of 8 fps (10 frames, full resolution), 60 fps (60 frames, 1,280×960 pixels) and 120 fps (60 frames, 640×480); a 1.0-sec start-up time; a shooting interval time of 0.5 sec; optical image stabilization (sensor shift) ; Full HD movie recording at 1080i/60 fps with stereo sound and slow-motion capture at 480 fps ; a 3.0-inch LCD (460K) ; manual exposure control (PSAM modes) ; dual zoom control ; instant zoom and zoom bracketing ; and the use of four AA alkaline batteries with a 320-shot battery life . It comes in black, white and red. $249.95.

FinePix S4800. Featuring a Fujinon super zoom lens (24mm wide angle to 720mm telephoto lens, f/3.1-5.9) ; this 16MP model offers: optical IS; scene recognition auto with six preset scenes; 0.3-sec autofocus; 720p/30-fps HD movie recording with video scene recognition; a 3-inch LCD (230k dots) ; manual exposure control; instant zoom ; and a mini HDMI output. It’s also powered by four AA alkaline batteries with a 320-shot battery life and will be offered in black. $229.95.

Fujifilm_finepix_jx680FinePix JX680. This pocketable camera has a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens (26–130mm), digital image stabilization to help eliminate blurry images and a filter function for added creative expression. It also features: a 16MP CCD sensor; a 3.0-inch LCD; individual shutter 3D ; motion panorama ; an easy-to-use GUI with large buttons ; 720p HD movie recording with a dedicated button; and video-editing features .
