Nikon-32mm-silverNikon’s newest Nikon 1 system lens, the 1 Nikkor 32mm f/1.2, is a fast medium-telephoto lens with a fixed focal length of 32mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.2.

The fastest lens in the 1 Nikkor lineup, the 86mm-equivalent lens is said to enable “brilliant sharpness and is able to resolve intricate details in portraits such as hair, eyes and eyelashes, while also allowing for strategically precise image blur and bokeh.”  From portraits to still-life art, the lens is engineered to permit users to emphasize a primary subject combined with an artfully blurred background as well as shoot in challenging light.

It also employs such core Nikkor lens technologies as a silent wave motor (SWM), a manual focus ring and a Nano Crystal Coat to reduce ghost and flare. Utilizing Nikon’s Close-Range Correction system, the lens is designed to provide high-resolution, realistic textures and minimized aberration, even in close-ups. Its M/A (autofocus with manual override) mode lets users manually focus during autofocus operation for fine adjustments while shooting.

Nikon will continue to expand the 1 Nikkor lens line, which now stands at nine with this new lens.

The Nikon 1 Nikkor 32mm f/1.2 lens will be available in black and silver versions for a suggested retail price of $899.95 in June 2013. nikonusa.com
