Canon-EOS-Rebel-T5iThe flagship of Canon’s popular Rebel line, the EOS Rebel T5i will feed your artistic appetite with its amazing imaging features. You’ll be impressed at how simple and intuitive it is to make photos you’ll cherish. It all starts with an 18.0-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor and Canon’s own Digic 5 image processor. They combine to give you an extensive ISO range of 100–12,800, which is expandable to ISO 25,600, to produce crisp, detailed images even in low light.

A continuous shooting speed of five frames per sec allows you to capture fast action, while nine cross-type autofocus points help ensure crisp focus throughout the frame. Notable is the T5i’s hybrid autofocus system, which enables speedy and accurate autofocus when you’re shooting in live-view mode so you never miss a shot.

In addition, the camera is compatible with more than 80 EOS lenses, including Canon STM (stepping motor) lenses for smooth, quiet autofocus performance that doesn’t stop with photos. When recording Full HD movies with STM lenses, you’ll only capture the stereo sound of the scene being recorded—not the lens’s operation. Plus, EOS Full HD movie mode with movie servo autofocus makes shooting high quality movies easy.

A bright, vari-angle 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD monitor puts composition control and touch access to creative functions, like seven effects filters, directly in your hands to maximize creativity. The effects are viewable in real time, so whether you’re adding saturation to a landscape or applying a vintage touch to a portrait, you can experiment with the filters and preview the effects on the LCD. Effects include art bold, water painting, grainy black and white, soft focus, toy camera, fisheye, and miniature. Plus, a new mode dial with scene modes was added, so you can focus on your subject while the camera determines the optimal settings.

More advanced shooters can benefit from handheld night scene, HDR backlight control, and multi-shot noise reduction modes; with the latter, multiple images are taken and combined in-camera to help create the best quality image.

Canon’s EOS Rebel T5i retails for $749.99 body alone, $849.99 bundled with an EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM kit lens, and $1,099 with the EF-S 18–135mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM lens. usa.canon.com
