Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-GX7-reviewThe Panasonic GX7 is a creative compact interchangeable-lens street camera that will bring your artisan’s vision to life. Smaller and sleeker than a DSLR, the GX7 discreetly delivers the power of amazing image quality to difficult-to-shoot street photos and video.

Dressed in a rugged magnesium alloy die-cast frame that comes in black or silver, the GX7 allows you to change your viewing perspective with its 90º tiltable live viewfinder (LVF) that offers extraordinary angles of view for unique shots. The LVF features high resolution and 100% color reproduction for high visibility under any circumstances. And it comes with an eye sensor that automatically turns on/off according to your actions. Eye-sensor autofocus (AF) automatically begins to focus when you look into the viewfinder, so no shooting opportunity is missed.

The DMC-GX7 is a new breed of digital camera for the hybrid photographer. It delivers 16.0-megapixel high-sensitivity (to ISO 25,600) images with minimum noise, even in low light, as well as records Full HD 1,920×1,080 60p smooth video with stereo sound—in both the AVCHD Progressive format for high detail and the MP4 format for easy uploading. Practical full-time AF and tracking AF is also available during video recording, as is cinema-like 24p recording, and the use of PASM mode for professional-like video by manually setting aperture and shutter speed.

You can also express your inner artist using the camera’s creative control mode with 22 filter effects. You’re even able to adjust the parameter of each filter effect. And with the creative panorama function, you can shoot a horizontal/vertical panoramic image with consecutive shots by overlaying the previous picture. The multiple images are stitched together in-camera to create one stunning single-wide image memorializing your scene.

The GX7 also incorporates an optical image stabilizer-like technology that works as effectively with interchangeable non-optically stabilized lenses, so you enjoy blur-free photography no matter your lens choice.

And instantly sharing your creations with the GX-7’s Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication is easy. NFC connects the camera to a smart device just by touching them together. Then, using the Panasonic Image app, you can use a smartphone or tablet to control zoom, set focus, and shoot remotely from a distance. The Wi-Fi setup is quick, and picture data can be transferred to a designated electronic device right after shooting.
