Lake Success, NY—Along with the PowerShot A2200, A1200 and A800 compacts, Canon introduced the PowerShot A3300 IS (image stabilization), which boasts creative filters, a discreet scene mode, live view control and an easier to use mode dial as well as larger buttons.
Key features include: 16 megapixels; a 5x wide-angle optical zoom lens (28mm); optical image stabilization; a large 3.0-inch LCD; creative filters; and 720p HD video capture.
Canon’s “smart auto” mode intelligently selects the proper settings for the camera based on 32 predefined shooting situations, and new scene modes include discreet mode, which disables the sound, flash and AF (autofocus) beam so users can capture images in quiet areas. A lithium ion battery offers an easy alternative to recharge the battery.
