Camcorder Review

Irvine, CA—Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, launched its waterproof Camileo BW10 camcorder. The pocket-sized HD camcorder comes in silver and yellow and features a rubberized coating.

The BW10 camcorder records Full HD 1080p video resolution up to six and a half feet under water and offers a 10x digital zoom to capture images from afar. It is equipped with a 2.0-inch diagonal LCD screen and weighs a 3.5 ounces, making it perfect for tossing into a beach bag or backpack.

Other key features include electronic image stabilization to help users capture steadier images, easy YouTube uploading with the Camileo Uploader software and the ability to double as a 5 megapixel digital still camera.

“With the success we’ve experienced with the Camileo line, we are excited to expand it with our newest camcorder that is designed for our more adventurous customers,” said Paul Collas, director, Accessory Marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Life Products and Services. “The Camileo BW10 camcorder is ideal for people who love to be outdoors in the snow, on the mountains, in the rapids or swimming in the pool and want to capture their experiences without fear of ruining their camcorder.”

The Camileo BW10 camcorder has separate video and photo functions, and consumers can view videos and still photos directly on a computer or HDTV with a mini HDMI® cable (sold separately). The camcorder can shoot up to 64 gigabytes (GB) of data (estimated 10 hours of recording at 1080p) using an SDXC card. $149.99.
