Lowepro launched its top-loading holster-style series, Toploader Zoom AW, for amateur and prosumer photographers out for a day of outdoor activities, travel or sports. Designed for introductory and mid-level DSLRs and standard zoom lenses, the series offers multiple carrying styles.
“We filled it with the type of pro-style details that an advanced or casual shooter will appreciate—like all weather protection, a shape that aligns with the body and handy access and storage functions,” said Tim Grimmer, Lowepro product manager.
The holster-style profile allows the Toploader Zoom AW to be worn as a shoulder bag or on a belt, and its lid opens away from the body to provide access to gear when a photographer is setting up a shot or in motion. With the optional chest harness (sold separately), the 50 and 55 models can be slung across the chest.
The series includes Lowepro’s patented all-weather AW cover that snugly fits over the bag—like a raincoat—and can be tucked away when the weather improves. Water-resistant nylon paired with lightweight performance fabrics provide protection and scratch resistance to the bag’s exterior.
Additional features include: a padded, customizable interior with a divider to separate an extra lens from the camera (50 AW and 55 AW); interior zipper pocket to store cards, a UV filter or battery; exterior zippered pocket; belt loop; padded grab handle; and a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. The two larger models include Lowepro’s SlipLock attachment loop for adding lens cases, P&S camera pouches or a water bottle bag.
The Toploader Zoom AW series is available in three sizes and each model comes in black or sea blue. lowepro.com
