Portland, OR—Lensbaby announced the top 50 photographs for its “See in a New Way” show, curated by the prestigious Washington School of Photography (WSP). The show will display Lensbaby images from around the world that were selected from a talented pool of photographers through an online call for submissions process.
All photos chosen will be exhibited as part of the show at the WSP gallery in Rockville, Maryland, with an opening reception on March 4, 2011. The show will run through March 31.
Lensbaby believes that using a Lensbaby changes the way a photographer looks at and shoots the world, so the company asked photographers to show how their Lensbaby lens has helped them see differently. The top three photographers chosen truly understood the theme See in a New Way, and their photos are representations of what a Lensbaby lens can do for photographic creativity.
The winning photographs are: first place—Looking Back by Elisaveta Stoilova; second place—In the Rain by Kinga Rozsnyai; and third place—Closed for the Season, by Arthur Ransome.
All 50 photographs were chosen by judges Missy Loewe, Kate Fraser and Parker Pfister. Loewe is the executive director of WSP as well as an instructor. Kate Fraser is an award-winning photographer and owner and director of the Fraser Gallery in Bethesda, Maryland. Parker Pfister is a Canon Explorer of Light and an award-winning photographer.
