Lake Success, NY—Four PowerShots, which blend Canon’s latest technology with contemporary styling, are designed for increased shooting flexibility with new settings and enhancements to smart auto mode. They also offer greater photo personalization and creativity with added scene modes and image effects, such as fisheye and miniature effects to help photographers add another creative element to images.

The SX210 IS, SD3500 IS and SD1400 IS provide technologies to secure the best pictures under challenging conditions: in addition to the face detection self-timer, the smart shutter scene mode now has smile and wink self-timers where the camera looks for a wink or smile to trigger the shutter. And smart auto mode increases the number of scenarios where each PowerShot can automatically adjust to different lighting or movement levels, while Canon’s smart FE (flash exposure) is said to automatically add the optimum level of flash illumination, aperture, ISO and shutter speed. A low light mode also features an ISO range to 6400.

All four models employ lenses with optical image stabilization and three shoot 720p HD video that, via a built-in HDMI mini-connector, can be played back on HDTVs. To support video recording, all new PowerShots accept SDXC cards up to two terabytes.
