San Diego, CA—Following the introduction of Sony’s NEX-5 and NEX-3 interchangeable–lens compact cameras with a new E mount, Sony announced it is developing an AVCHD high-definition camcorder that features an interchangeable-lens system.
The camcorder, which will be available this fall, will be compatible with E-mount interchangeable lenses developed for Sony’s newest digital still cameras, the NEX-5 and NEX-3, as well as many A-mount interchangeable lenses in Sony’s existing Alpha DSLR camera lineup via a mount adapter.
The HD camcorder will also be equipped with the same Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor used in the NEX-5 and NEX-3 models. More details will follow in the coming months. sony.com
