More casting news is trickling in for the upcoming “Muppets” sequel, which will have an all-new human cast from the 2011 movie. And Tina Fey may be a part of it.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fey is in “late-stage negotiations” to take on a major role in the film. Fey’s potential character is a “Russian gulag prison guard,” according to the report.
The film, which sounds an awful lot like “The Great Muppet Caper,” already has Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell lined up in major roles, along with the usual cast of Muppet mainstays. James Bobin will once again direct, with Bret McKenzie contributing original songs. Shooting begins this month in London.
