With Lance Armstrong submitting to the inevitable this week and admitting to Oprah Winfrey that he did, in fact, use performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career, lots of people have been making jokes about Armstrong’s various appearances in pop culture over the years. Most notable is his one-minute cameo in the 2004 Vince Vaughn/Ben Stiller comedy “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.”
Here, he gives a pep talk, meant to inspire Vaughn to reconsider his decision to quit the game of dodgeball:
It must be said that “Dodgeball” is kind of a terrible movie, with a weak premise, jokes that miss about nine times out of ten, and subpar performances from Stiller (playing way too broad) and Vaughn (way too subdued.) The Armstrong cameo is just about the only legitimately clever or memorable moment.
