This probably won’t be his costume

HBO keeps adding to what sounds like a dream cast for True Detective, its upcoming eight-episode drama series. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are the stars, with Michelle Monaghan playing Harrelson’s wife, and now the series has added “Texas Chainsaw 3D” star Alexandra Daddario, Elizabeth Reaser and Wood Harris and Michael Potts, familiar to fans of The Wire as Avon Barksdale and Brother Mouzone.

The series, according to Deadline, is “an elevated serial narrative with multiple perspectives and time frames,” set across a 17-year period starting in 1995.

True Detective is written by Nic Pizzolatto, and its been reported that the series may reboot each season with a different cast, similarly to American Horror Story on FX.
