For fans of 90s alternative rock, we have exciting news: Soundgarden will be releasing its first album since 1996.
The Seattle-based band says that the record is almost complete and should be released by October, 2012. However, fans can have an early taste with their song “Live to Rise,” found on the new Avengers soundtrack.
Lead singer Chris Cornell tells Rolling Stone Magazine, “For a band like Soundgarden, being associated with [The Avengers] – for what it’s about and what they accomplish in it – it’s a pretty good way to have a partner in the entertainment business to get your songs out in front of people.”
Don’t think you can wait until October? Their “Classic Album Selections” will be released in Europe by the end of May, accompanying their European tour.
