AMC’s Best Picture Showcase

Want to follow the Oscars, but didn’t have a chance to see all (or any?) of the big movies? The AMC theater chain, for the seventh year, is planning a Best Picture Showcase next month.

The Showcase, scheduled for Feb. 16 and Feb. 23, will include showings of all nine Best Picture-nominated films- and at 12 theaters, an actual nine-movie marathon is scheduled. A two-day pass and the marathon pass will both cost $60, with one-day passes going for $30 for the 16th and $40 for the 23rd.

At all of the theaters, “Amour,” “Les Miserables,” Argo” and “Django Unchained” will show on Feb. 16, with “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” “Life of Pi,” “Lincoln,” “Silver Linings Playbook” and “Zero Dark Thirty” showing on the 23rd, with both programs starting at 10 a.m. In theaters showing the marathon, the order will go “Amour,” “Lincoln,” “Argo,” ‘Django,’ ‘Les Miz,’ “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Life of Pi,” ‘Silver Linings’ and Beasts.

See the Best Picture showcase website for more information on theaters.
